The West Baton Rouge Library, in partnership with the West Baton Rouge Museum, is hosting a panel discussion inspired by the PBS documentary AMERICAN CREED at the West Baton Rouge Museum on Wednesday, January 23 at 12:30 p.m.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. Courtney Brown from LSU’s National Writing Project. The panelists will discuss what citizenship means. Panelists will include community members who were part of the fight for the right of African Americans to vote in the parish during the Civil Rights Movement and immigrants discussing their path to citizenship.
This event is made possible by the American Creed: Community Conversations grant given by the National Endowment for the Humanities through the American Library Association in partnership with Citizen Film and the National Writing Project.
